Who are you and what is your business name? My name is Chanda Price and I’m a freelance makeup artist.
What do you offer for brides?
I offer full service hair and makeup.
What is your specialty within your business?
Weddings are my specialty.
How long have you been doing makeup and hair?
I have been doing makeup for 14 years.
What are your favorite kind of makeup and hair styes to do?
I like to stick to classic and traditional looks for my brides. Clean and sophisticated, not too overdone.
What is your process when you schedule makeup and hair with a bride?
After a bride decides she wants to move forward with booking I usually like to schedule a meeting or a trial run so we can make sure we are on the same page with each other.
What should a bride know if they are booking you? They should know that it’s my goal to make sure everyone is happy and comfortable. I make sure we have a great time while getting glam!
For a bride, should they come in and have a makeup and hair trial? I usually recommend a trial run. It’s a great way to work out the “kinks” when deciding on the look. I always think everyone is more comfortable on the big day when we all know what to expect.
What are your top three tips for a bride regarding their makeup or hair? Exfoliate, get plenty of rest (at least try), and stay hydrated.
What are your inspirations? I’m completely inspired light, airy, and whimsy looks. I love anything that screams southern charm.
Any artists or things that inspire you the most? Honestly, I have a lot of friends in the wedding industry and I’m constantly inspired by seeing their work. Whether it’s an amazing table scape, gorgeous florals, or the most romantic photo.
What is your ultimate dream with your business? Is it bad to say that I feel like I am living my dream I am beyond grateful to my clients who often become friends. I feel so blessed to be trusted by so many amazing women who trust me to be with them on one of the happiest days of their lives!!
Where do you want to see yourself in five years? Possibly having my work featured more. Other than that, I’m a mom of two littles so for the time being I can’t see taking on many more weddings. Last year I did a little over 30 weddings and for me, it doesn’t get much better than that!
Is there something that surprises a bride when they are getting their makeup or hair done? I try to make sure there is little room for surprises. I like to make sure we have ironed out details and addressed all questions before the big day.
Something they should be prepared for? To have a great time! I love getting to know my clients. It helps me connect to them so I can deliver the best outcome.
What can a bride do to be prepared for their makeup and hair with you? We will keep the lines of communication open. My clients call/text/email with any questions or concerns on the road to the wedding.
